The award ceremony of the photography competition organized in memory of our newspaper’s photojournalist Mustafa Cambaz, who was martyred on July 15, will take place on Saturday at the Adnan Menderes Congress Center. The winners of the competition will be announced at the ceremony, which will also be attended by President Erdoğan.
The Best Island Photo Will Be Selected
This year, thousands of candidates participated in the competition, and news, cultural, historical, drone and mobile phone photos taken by photojournalists will compete. The best Democracy and Freedom Island photo will be selected in the category, which will replace last year’s ‘Complete the Story’ category. In addition to the awards given in a total of 4 main categories, 2 special awards will also find their owners.
Gaza Photos to Compete
The special award to be given in 2024 will be called the Yeni Şafak Newspaper Gaza Special Award. This award will reward a photo chosen from among the photos taken to make Gaza’s voice heard. A total of 800 thousand TL worth of awards will be given in the competition.
