Within the scope of the intervention in the forest fire that broke out in the Gaziemir district of İzmir, 7 planes, 16 helicopters, 35 water trucks, 11 water supply vehicles, 4 dozers and 4 ground teams affiliated with the General Directorate of Forestry were dispatched. . In addition, a large number of firefighting personnel are also participating in the fire extinguishing efforts.
Beehives and small cattle pens in the area affected by the flames are being evacuated. Teams are working hard to control the fire, which is approaching the Air Technical Schools Command and Sarnıç Picnic Area.
On the other hand, due to the fire being close to Adnan Menderes Airport and the rising smoke negatively affecting flight traffic, some flights are being disrupted. Some flights are being delayed, while others are being diverted to surrounding airports.
