The Journey of Foreign Nationals in Kırklareli
In Kırklareli, 7 foreign nationals who tore the tarpaulin off the trailer of a truck and jumped onto the road after disobeying the “stop” warning of security forces were injured.
The Provincial Gendarmerie Command Intelligence Branch and the Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Border Gates Branch teams received information that irregular immigrants would be brought to the vicinity of the Dereköy Border Gate, which provides transportation to Bulgaria with a TIR.
The teams issued a “stop” warning to the truck with the registration number 34 ERE 580, operated by AA, near the village of Demircihalil.
The driver disobeyed the warning and maneuvered towards the city center. Meanwhile, 7 of the immigrants buried the tarpaulin on the trailer of the truck and jumped onto the road.
The truck was stopped by teams at Çağlayan Junction. It was determined that there were 51 foreign nationals in the trailer of the truck.
Following the notification, ambulances were dispatched to the region and took 7 injured people on the road to Kırklareli Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that two foreign nationals were in mortal danger. The irregular immigrants were taken to the gendarmerie command for procedures.
During the search of the trailer of the truck, a gun, a knife and wire-cutting scissors were seized.
Truck driver AA was detained in connection with the incident.
