The Jordanian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Israel’s targeting of civilians and refugee centers, stressing in a written statement that the attack is against international law.
It also called on the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take urgent action to stop these crimes by Israel.
Israel’s School Attack in Khan Younis: 30 Dead, 53 Injured
Thirty people were killed and at least 53 were injured when the Israeli army attacked a school in Khan Younis, a city in the Gaza Strip where displaced Palestinians were taking refuge. The attack was carried out despite international warnings.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini Criticizes Israel
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has strongly criticized Israel’s attacks on schools in Gaza, noting that two-thirds of the schools targeted by Israel since 7 October 2023 belong to UNRWA.
Human Rights Violations in Gaza
More than 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced from the region, where approximately 2.3 million people live, as a result of Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The displaced Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to migrate continuously.
Some Palestinians were forced to take shelter in nearby schools to avoid leaving their homes, but the Israeli army also targeted schools and camps housing displaced Palestinians.
