Major Earthquake Warning in Japan

Japonya'da Büyük Deprem Uyarısı

According to Japanese state television NHK, officials from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced that the warning for a “big earthquake” along the country’s Pacific coast remains valid. The statement emphasized that no irregular changes in the tension in the earth’s crust have been observed so far.

Authorities have asked 707 municipalities in 29 states across the country to review their preparedness for a possible disaster, saying such measures are of great importance for public safety.

The JMA said the probability of a major earthquake, particularly in the Nankai Rift, is higher than normal. This has become a topic that experts are closely monitoring. The 7.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Miyazaki Prefecture on August 8 has once again brought Japan’s earthquake risk to the agenda.

Just hours after the earthquake, the JMA reported that the probability of a major earthquake near the Nankai Rift in the Pacific Ocean had increased. This has raised concerns among the public, and authorities are constantly monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions.
