The Israeli army has carried out a major operation in the Jordan Valley region of the West Bank. The written statement did not provide any information about the identity of the martyred Palestinian, but stated that Israeli soldiers were not injured in the incident.

The Palestinian authorities have not yet made an official statement on the matter. However, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli soldiers opened fire and wounded a Palestinian in the countryside of Tubas in the northern West Bank. No information was given about the identity and health condition of the injured person.

On the other hand, the Israeli army killed 11 Palestinians in total, 4 in Tubas and 7 in Jenin in the northern West Bank, as a result of raids it conducted last night. Israeli soldiers also killed a young Palestinian who allegedly attempted a “knife attack” at a military checkpoint between occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Since Israel launched its attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, there has been a significant increase in detentions, raids and attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. During this period, 619 Palestinians were martyred and more than 5,000 Palestinians were injured in attacks by Israeli soldiers and settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
