Israeli Army’s Attack on Al-Mawasi
According to information obtained from health sources, the Israeli army bombed a tent belonging to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in the al-Mawasi area where displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were taking refugee. As a result of this attack, a total of four Palestinians, one woman and three children lost their lives.
The Israeli army had announced that it would launch an attack on parts of Al-Mawasi, where it had cornered more than a million displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. It had also once again asked the Palestinians there to leave. Israel claimed that Al-Mawasi was “safe” and encouraged them to move towards this area.
This forced migration, which began on October 7, extended from the northern parts of Gaza to Khan Younis and from there to Rafah, where displaced Palestinians have taken refugee. During its attacks on Khan Younis and Rafah, Israel called on Palestinians there to go to Al-Mawasi, which was said to be “safe.”
Located between the regions of Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah, on the Mediterranean coast, where there is no infrastructure and very little construction, al-Mawasi hosts makeshift tents where Palestinians are desperately trying to hold on to life during these difficult days . Palestinians who have fled the attacks continue to struggle for life here.
