Pezeshkian’s Statements
In a statement made on the X social media account, Iranian President Pezeshkian expressed the sorrow he felt for the martyr of the Palestinian people, Ismail Haniyeh. Honoring Haniyeh at the oath-taking ceremony held in the Parliament, Pezeshkian described him as a brave comrade of the Palestinian resistance and emphasized that the solidarity between Iran and Palestine will strengthen.
Pezeshkian stated that the attack did not only target Haniyeh, but also threatened Iran’s territorial integrity. Stating that Iran would fight against invading terrorists while protecting its honor and dignity, Pezeshkian said, “Iran will never give up defending the rights of the oppressed.”
Pezeshkiyan completed his statement with a verse from the Quran and conveyed his feelings with the words, “Surely Allah is Almighty, Owner of Retribution.”
