In a statement published on the Iranian Foreign Ministry website, Spokesperson Said Khatibzadeh Kenani conveyed his condolences to the Palestinian people and Hamas following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Kenani praised Haniyeh’s struggle for the liberation of Palestine and made the following statements:
“I express my condolences and solidarity with the great Palestinian people, as well as Hamas and all Palestinian resistance groups, on the martyrdom of Haniyeh in Tehran. Haniyeh’s death in Tehran will further strengthen the strong bond between Iran and Palestine and the resistance forces. “
The statement emphasized Haniyeh’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and his spirit of resistance, adding that Iran would continue to stand by the Palestinian people.
