Iran’s Response to European Countries
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kenani responded to a joint statement issued by Germany, France and the UK, according to the official Iranian news agency IRNA. Kenani drew attention to Israel’s crimes against humanity in Gaza and stressed that Iran is determined to defend its national security.
Kenani stated that Western countries, especially Germany, France and England, support the Zionist regime while they should be making effective efforts to stop Israel’s war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people. He said that the three countries’ call on Iran to abandon its recognized rights is an “impudent” attempt against international politics and law.
Kenani continued his words as follows: “Such approaches serve no purpose other than emboldening Israel, which is clearly committing terrorist crimes in the region. If the countries mentioned (Britain, Germany and France) truly seek peace and stability in the region, they must firmly oppose the warmongering of the apartheid and racist regime in Israel. They must immediately stop the war on Gaza and the horrific killing of the defenseless Palestinian people, especially women and children.”
In a joint written statement yesterday by the UK, France, Germany, the US and Italy, it was stated that “Our support for Israel’s self-defense against Iran will continue” and that “We call on Iran to end its threats of military attack againstIsrael”. The statement also emphasized that such an attack could have serious consequences on regional security.
