Changes in Driving Schools and Driving License Exams
The new regulation, which will come into force in July 2024, brings with it important changes in driving schools and driving license exams. With this regulation, innovations will be made in many areas, from course registrations to exam periods. In the regulation prepared by the Ministry of National Education, it was stated that the driving education course exams will be carried out on two different routes.
Traffic Instructor Zakir Çelepkolu explained the points that those who want to get a driver’s license should pay attention to in the new regulation as follows: “The exam duration is being increased from 35 minutes to 40 minutes. Previously, we had a fixed route; Now, two different routes will be determined. On the exam day, the commissions in charge will direct the driver candidate to one of these routes by drawing lots. During the reverse parking phase, where previously the vehicle was parked with one move, candidates will now be given the chance to make corrections with two moves. In other words, it will be extended by one more move.”
Çelepkolu pointed out that the new regulations also include the U-turn application, “A U-turn point will be determined at a suitable place on the exam routes and candidates will make a U-turn from there.”He also said, “The ‘wild card’ problem, which we frequently encounter in our region, that is, the issue of someone else taking the exam instead of a student, will also be prevented with the new regulations.”said.
Çelepkolu continued his explanations, “From now on, people who register for driving school will fill out the application form themselves. Their photos will be taken live by the course and these photos will be transferred to the Ministry of National Education Information Systems (MEBBİS) system. In addition, biometric photos will be added to the system. In this way, the ministry will have taken an important step to prevent such frauds.”He used the expressions.
Çelepkolu also stated that some new arrangements will be made for disabled individuals, “Our disabled citizens will be able to take the exam with their own vehicles, provided that a suitable vehicle is provided for them.”He concluded his speech as follows.
