The President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Erol Özvar, announced that evening education programs at state universities were closed. Özvar stated that this step was an important study aimed at increasing the quality of programs at universities. He also emphasized that programs suitable for employment and aimed at the future of evening education programs at state universities would be developed instead.
It was also shared that 80 thousand students were placed in 1,308 evening education programs last year. With this change, similar steps are expected to be taken in foundation universities and programs to be updated.
