Statement from the Military Spokesperson of the Houthis
Houthis’ Military Spokesperson Yahya Seri announced in his latest statement that an MQ-9 type UAV belonging to the US army was shot down in the skies of the city of Zemar. Seri stated that this unmanned aerial vehicle was targeted and shot down by the Houthis’ air defense systems.
In the statement, Seri stated that the US UAV was on an attack mission over the city of Zemar and was hit by the effective air defense systems of the Houthis. This incident is considered as part of the Houthis’ air defense struggle against enemy elements.
Yahya Seri also emphasized that within the framework of their fight against the USA and Israel to provide support to the Gaza Strip, the number of MQ-9 type UAVs they shot down reached 10 in total. This situation reveals the increase in the Houthis’ air defense capacity and their potential to affect the military balances in the region.
