Hot Air Balloons Livened Up the Sky at the Nevşehir Culture Road Festival

The “Nevşehir Culture Road Festival” organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism took place in the magnificent skies of Cappadocia this year with figured hot air balloons from many countries. This festival, which is the seventh leg of the Turkey Culture Road Festivals, attracted the attention of local and foreign tourists by hosting various events in the city.

This year, the festival was held for the second time, and in the Cappadocia region, where hot air balloons are used most intensively, balloons with interesting figures floated over fairy chimneys. The balloons completed their preparations for flight with the first light of day. Participants who came to the festival area had the opportunity to watch the visual feast of figured balloons coming from Turkey, as well as Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Portugal , Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland.

Among the balloons at the festival, there were 60 different figures in total, such as “frog”, “elephant”, “turtle”, “rocket”, “heart”, “wolf” and “earthmill”. These figured balloons took off from the Göreme town and floated over the unique valleys for about 45 minutes.

Governor of Nevsehir Ali Fidan, stated that nearly 500 events were held within the scope of the Nevşehir Culture Road Festival. Emphasizing that the event organized with hot air balloons created colorful images, Fidan said, “Cappadocia is the most important region that comes to mind when it comes to hot air ballooning. Last year, 615 thousand people participated in balloon tours and this number is increasing Even more this year, we observe a 30 percent increase in the number of passengers compared to last year. The balloon tour, which is the most important event of our region, contributes greatly to the promotion of our city as well as the development of tourism. .”

President of the Anatolian Hot Air Balloon Operators Association Mehmet Halis AydoganHe stated that Cappadocia is known for its hot air balloon tourism as well as its historical, cultural and natural beauties. Aydoğan said, “150 balloons fly in a festival atmosphere in Cappadocia every day.” He added, “The place where the most balloon flights are made in the world is Cappadocia. We can easily say that this region is the center of world ballooning. We think that in the coming years, the place where the largest balloon festival in the The world is held will be Cappadocia again.”
