Heavy Rains in Nigde
Heavy rains in the central, Bor, Çamardı and Çiftlik districts of Niğde and the towns of Hacıabdullah, Yıldıztepe and Bozköy negatively affected daily life. The rain caused flooding, leaving some homes and workplaces underwater, and drivers had a hard time. While vehicles had difficulty moving on the Niğde-Bor road, a road was closed in Bor TOKİ Neighborhood due to flooding and traffic flow was directed to a different route.
The road between Bozköy and Kayırlı in Çiftlik district was closed to traffic due to floods and landslides. Teams quickly began to intervene for the vehicles stranded on the road.
Nigde Governorship Made a Statement
Niğde Governorship made a statement regarding the floods and inundations that occurred in Bor district and its surroundings and summarized the situation as follows:
- Two people who were swept away by the tractor in the Pınarcık village were rescued by AFAD and Gendarmerie teams.
- The vehicles stranded on the Merkez Yıldıztepe-Tırhan mountain road were rescued by construction equipment belonging to the Provincial Special Administration.
- A citizen who was stranded at the entrance of Bağlama Town was rescued by Bağlama Municipality teams.
- Necessary work was carried out for the damage caused by the flood in Hacı Abdullah village.
- In Bor district, 20 houses and 2 workplaces were flooded, and 4 trapped citizens were taken to safe places.
- While 4 houses were flooded in Niğde Center, damage assessment efforts continue.
Damage Assessment Work Continues
While it was reported that there were no injuries or deaths following the floods and inundations, AFAD teams continue to assess damage in flooded homes and other locations. It was determined as a result of studies conducted by agricultural directorates that there was no damage in agricultural areas and orchards.
It was stated that meticulous efforts will be carried out within the framework of the relevant legislation to provide assistance to the victimized citizens.
