Criticizing the US support for the occupying Israel’s attacks in Gaza, Hassanein said, “As a Muslim American, I cannot continue to work for an administration that continues to finance and enable Israel’s genocide against Palestinians while ignoring the voices of its diverse cadre.” Stating that he and his family, other Muslims and Arab Americans voted for Biden because he promised “justice,” Hassanein emphasized that this promise has been “shattered.” Hassanein noted that it has become clear that the Biden administration has no place in this administration due to its “dehumanization of Arabs and Muslims,” as well as its policy preferences.
