Hassanein also called on the US administration to immediately stop arms shipments to the occupying Israel and end its support for the attacks on Gaza.

Twelve government employees who resigned due to Biden’s policies towards Gaza said in a joint statement, “The diplomatic protection and arms flow that America has provided to Israel have undeniably made us complicit in the killing and starvation of Palestinians.” Josh Paul, the director general of the US State Department’s “Arms to Allies and Partners” unit, stood out as the first name to resign in October 2023 in response to Biden’s Gaza policies.
