Tension Within Israel: Ben-Gvir’s Statements

İsrail İçinde Gerilim: Ben-Gvir'in Açıklamaları

Israel’s far-right Minister of Internal Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, said in a post on the X social media platform, “I am making intense efforts to stop negotiations with Hamas.” He made statements as follows. This statement came after the latest developments in Israel’s Gaza Strip.

İsrail İç Güvenlik Bakanı Ben-Gvir'in Sert Açıklamaları ve Gerilim Artışı

Ben-Gvir claimed that the bodies were found in a tunnel in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip were killed by Hamas. “The state does not negotiate with the murderers. On the contrary, it stops the negotiations, does not provide electricity and fuel. It crushes them until they surrender.” He took a harsh stance.

The occupying Israeli army announced that they found the bodies of 6 Israeli prisoners in a tunnel in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, on September 1. However, Hamas states that these people lost their lives during the bombardments carried out by American weapons against the Palestinian people.

In another post on the X platform, Ben-Gvir called for the introduction of new penalties for the people in the occupied West Bank and the killing of Palestinians in Israeli prisons. Ben-Gvir, who is frequently criticized for human rights violations with such statements, once again emphasized that he is determined to oppose agreements such as the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, ceasefire and prisoner exchange.

Ben-Gvir also threatens to bring down the coalition government in case of any agreement to end the war. While such harsh stances increase tension in the region, they also create great concern in the international community.
