Hamas described the attack targeting the Al-Abyad Mosque in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp west of Gaza City as “a new war crime by Israel that the US is covering up.” The death toll from the attack, which targeted people performing midday prayers in the area where the Al-Abyad Mosque was destroyed by Israel, rose to 18, while many Palestinians were injured.

“The Zionist enemy has added a new crime to its list of crimes”
Hamas strongly condemned the Israeli attack on those praying on the ruins of the Al-Abyad Mosque in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp in a written statement. The statement said, “The massacre by the fascist occupation army of those praying on the ruins of the Al-Abyad Mosque in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp has added yet another crime to the Zionist enemy’s defenseless people in Gaza.”

Hamas’ statement emphasized that the attack was carried out with the support of the US and that Israel’s crimes against the people of Gaza are continuing to increase. In addition to the deaths and injuries resulting from the attack, the displacement of the people living in the region was also condemned. The statement said, “This massacre committed by Israel before the eyes of the world has led to the deaths of 18 martyrs who were worshipping, the injuries of dozens of people and the displacement of the people living in the region. This incident is a new “war crime by Israel that the US is covering up.”

Latest Situation in Gaza
According to a statement by Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Civil Defense Unit in Gaza, 15 people were killed and 20 others were injured in the Israeli attack on the Al-Abyad Mosque. In addition, 90 people were killed in the Israeli attack on the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. In Israel’s attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023, 38,443 Palestinians have been killed, including at least 15,694 children and 10,279 women, and 88,481 people have been injured.
