According to a written statement by Hamas, the Hamas delegation met with the Secretary General of Islamic Jihad, Ziad an-Nahhale, and the Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Jamil Mizhir. The meeting took place within the framework of consultations against the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.
The statement noted that, in addition to developments on the ground and political developments, efforts to halt Israel’s attacks on Gaza were discussed. It was stated that the resistance forces’ ceasefire goals included “the cessation of attacks, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, reconstruction and a fair prisoner exchange.”
The statement stressed that efforts should be made to achieve these goals in a way that protects the interests of the Palestinian people and strengthens national unity.
