Foreign trade in Turkish Lira showed a significant increase in the first half of 2024. According to the data of the Ministry of Trade, foreign trade volume in Turkish Lira increased by 49.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 519 billion 678 million liras . Exports increased by 2%, reaching 125 billion 446 million dollars.
Increase in Exports with Turkish Lira Also Observed
There was also an increase in exports in Turkish Lira in the first half of the year. According to monthly data, exports in Turkish Lira increased every month. Especially in January, exports in Turkish Lira increased by 49.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 21 billion 811 million lira.
Highest Foreign Trade Values of 2024
The increase in foreign trade in Turkish Lira continued in the second month of the year. In February, exports in Turkish Lira increased by 83.2% to 25 billion 154 million lira, while imports increased by 74.8% to 70 billion 556 million lira. These figures were recorded as the highest foreign trade values of 2024.
37,030 Companies Exported to 160 Countries with Turkish Lira
In the January-June period of 2024, exports in Turkish Lira increased by 55% compared to the previous year, reaching 144 billion 688 million liras. Imports increased by 47.1%, reaching 374 billion 990 million liras. Total foreign trade volume increased by 49.3%, reaching 519 billion 678 million liras. During this period, 37,030 companies exported to 160 different countries in Turkish Lira.
