Call from Golan to Opposition Parties

Golan'dan Muhalefet Partilerine Çağrı

Chairman of the Democratic Party X Golan, announced in a video post on his social media account that he sent an important letter to the leaders of the opposition parties. Golan made the following call: “I invite all the leaders of the opposition parties to hold an urgent meeting in the upcoming winter session of the Israeli Parliament to discuss ways to overthrow the government.”

The summer recession period, which began on July 22 in the Israeli Parliament, is expected to end in mid-October. Golan called on opposition leaders to “take joint action”, drawing attention to the “state of emergency that Israel is in.” Golan emphasized that the country is experiencing a major political, security, economic, social and constitutional collapse, and requested “to work together to save Israel.”

Golan also drew attention to the Israelis held captive in Gaza, saying, “We are at the peak of the war. The kidnapped have been in captivity for 328 days. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to migrate, the economy has come to “The point of collapse. Reserve officers and soldiers have been fighting for a long time and cannot see light at the end of the tunnel.”

Regarding the current situation, Golan said that current policies “will lead to a security and economic disaster that will cause serious damage.” He also stressed that the Netanyahu government has failed in the Gaza issue and has not taken responsibility for this failure.

Support from Lapid

Lapid'den Destek

Main opposition leader in Israel Yair Lapid, responded to Golan’s call on social media, saying, “We will continue to work with all opposition parties until the Netanyahu government is overthrown.”

The opposition and a significant segment of society in Israel believe that Netanyahu has failed to achieve his goals in Gaza and is prolonging the war by destroying opportunities for a prisoner swap deal in order to stay in politics. In addition, street demonstrations are frequently held in many cities in the country calling for a prisoner swap deal with Hamas and early elections.
