As a result of the operations carried out under the coordination of the Cyber Crimes Combating Department of the Gendarmerie General Command, “CYBERGÖZ-48” operations were carried out in 19 provinces. These operations are centered in Trabzon and Aydın and cover the provinces of Adana, Ankara, Batman, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, İzmir, Mardin, Mersin, Sivas, İstanbul, Iğdır, Giresun, Kastamonu, Muğla, Van and Zonguldak.
Fraud with the Promise of “High Short-Term Earnings”
In the operations carried out by the Cyber Crimes Department of the Trabzon Provincial Gendarmerie Command with the support of the KOM Department, 33 suspects who were determined to have made unjust profits by defrauding citizens with the promise of “High Earnings in a Short Term” through social media applications were caught in the operations carried out in Trabzon-based Adana, Ankara, Batman, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, İzmir, Mardin, Mersin and Sivas.
Fraud with Fake Accounts
In operations conducted by the Cyber Crimes Department of the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command, nine suspects who defrauded citizens with fake accounts created on social media platforms and gained unjust profits were caught in operations conducted in Aydın-based Istanbul, Iğdır and Mardin. These suspects defrauded citizens by creating fake lawsuits, reconciliation and enforcement documents.
Child Sexual Materials
In operations conducted by Adana, Ankara, Eskişehir, Giresun, İstanbul, İzmir, Kastamonu, Mersin, Muğla, Van and Zonguldak Provincial Gendarmerie Commands Cyber Crime Combating Branch Directorates, 23 suspects who stored and shared sexually explicit and obscene photos and videos of children were caught. These suspects committed the crime of “Online Child Obscenity”.
Seized Materials and Transaction Volume
As a result of the operations, numerous computers, phones, SIM cards, portable memories, bank/credit cards and cold crypto wallets were seized. A transaction volume of 11 billion 400 million TL was detected in the accounts of 65 suspects.
