Furkan Arslan’s Defective Vehicle Struggle

Furkan Arslan'ın Ayıplı Araç Mücadelesi

Furkan Arslan, who lives in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, bought a new minibus from the Ford Arkas dealership in Izmir. After receiving his vehicle, he was concerned about some of its parts and had the vehicle checked by a private expert service within half an hour. During the inspection, it was determined that the rear trunk of the vehicle had been disassembled and the rear bumper iron had been replaced by welding.

Furkan Arslan then contacted the dealer again on the same day and reported the situation. The dealer also examined the vehicle to determine the situation. When Ford officials were informed, it was reported that the vehicle, which was sold as brand new, was suggested to be repaired instead of replaced. However, Furkan Arslan did not accept this offer. Since July 3, he has been making an intensive effort to replace his defective vehicle, which he bought as brand new.

Change Request Denied

Furkan Arslan, “I bought this vehicle brand new on July 3. I took it to an expert immediately after purchasing it. The expert report stated that the trunk lid of my vehicle had been disassembled and the bumper iron had been welded and changed. In addition, deterioration and play were detected in the window seal. I saw these with my own eyes. I immediately went back to the dealership where I bought the vehicle and reported the situation. The dealership also conducted its own expert examinations of the vehicle. The results were consistent with my findings; It was determined that there were defects in the vehicle’s paint and that the bumper iron had been changed. The dealer reported this situation to the Ford Otosan Vehicle Production Factory. However, in the response I received, it was stated that my request for replacement had been rejected. They charged me for a brand new vehicle and I paid 2 million 180 thousand liras for this vehicle. Now, they are telling me that they will fix the scratches on the car with wax polish, change the window seal and give me a note on the removable part of the trunk lid stating that it was like this from the factory. I absolutely do not accept this. “When I bought this vehicle, they said there was no defect, it was a brand new vehicle.”

‘They Say We Paid for a New Car, Let’s Fix It’

Arslan stated that the defective vehicle was sold to him as a brand new and faultless vehicle and that he was aggrieved for this reason, “The dealer is telling me today, let’s fix your car. I paid for a brand new car. If I were to sell my car today, it would definitely lose value in addition to the repair costs. You can never fix the disassembly of the trunk lid. You can’t fix the part of the bumper bar that has changed. You can’t fix the defects in the vehicle’s various paints. This dealer victimized me. I got burned, don’t let me get burned.”

‘Even if it’s zero, definitely take it to an expert’

Furkan Arslan, addressing those who are considering buying a vehicle, said: “Take your vehicle to an expert as soon as you buy it, even if it is brand new. If I had not taken the vehicle to an expert as soon as I bought it, I would not be able to make any claims right now. I took my vehicle to an expert half an hour after buying it and proved that it was defective. The dealer tells me, come and let’s do the repair. I am the victim. I expect help from the authorities. “I expect your support.”
