Under the leadership of the Al-Aqsa Platform, representatives and members of some civil society organizations gathered at the Izzetpaşa Mosque and performed the evening prayer together. The participants then performed the funeral prayer in absentia for Palestinian Ismail Hanniye.
The crowd marched from the Izzet Pasha Mosque to the Republic Square chanting takbirs and chanting slogans against Israel. Prayers for Haniyeh were said in the square accompanied by the recitation of the Quran.
Making a press statement on behalf of the platform, Ersin Eryılmaz stated that they strongly condemned the assassination and emphasized that they stand with the Palestinian people.
