Forest Fire in Hatay
A fire broke out in the forest in the Uzunalıç Neighborhood of Hatay’s Antakya district at around 16:00. Thanks to the rapid notifications made by surrounding citizens, teams from the Hatay Forestry Regional Directorate were immediately dispatched to the region to bring the fire under control before it could grow.
Firefighters are also providing support for the fire response. The fire response efforts are currently being carried out in a very comprehensive manner. Below are the details of the vehicles used for fire response:
- 7 water tankers
- 3 first response vehicles
- 3 helicopters
- 2 water tanks
- 1 airplane
Both air and land interventions are continuing intensively to bring the fire under control. No official statement has yet been made regarding the cause and size of the fire, but authorities are drawing attention to the seriousness of the situation.
