Due to heavy rainfall in the Kurtuluş Neighborhood of the Fatsa district, homes and workplaces were flooded, and streets and avenues were flooded. The gardens of the Şehit Sercan Öklük Primary School and the Fatsa Special Education Practice School in the Efkaf Neighborhood were also flooded.
Teams worked hard to drain the water and clean up the area with heavy machinery. The debris that had accumulated on the roads along with the floodwaters was cleaned and the safety of citizens was ensured.
Citizens Clean Using Their Own Means
Citizens whose homes and workplaces were flooded after the heavy rains that took place at night are carrying out cleaning efforts with their own means as well as with the teams. Although they want to take precautions, they are making an effort to clean the areas damaged by the sudden rains.
Highest Rainfall Amount Recorded in Fatsa
Fatsa district reached the highest amount of rainfall in Turkey. Fatsa, which received 41.2 mm of rain, was followed by Samsun Ayvacık with 37.7 mm and Isparta Eğirdir with 37.6 mm. According to the data of the General Directorate of Meteorology, torrential rains are expected to continue throughout the day.
