Frankfurt Airport said in a statement: “Following the action of climate activators, Frankfurt Airport has been operational again with all its runways since 07:50. Climate activities have gained access to the airport today. Federal and state police, airport security and the airport fire brigade took immediate action. Flight operations at the entire airport have been temporarily suspended immediately for security reasons. All runways have been operational again since 07:50. Around 1,400 flights were planned for the day of operation. Around 140 have been canceled so far. Delays are expected for the remainder of the day of operation. “Passengers are asked to check their flight status on the airline websites before traveling to the airport.”

Flights at Cologne-Bonn Airport were also suspended yesterday in the country due to climate conflicts. In a statement made by Cologne-Bonn Airport, it was said, “Unauthorized persons gained access to the security area of Cologne/Bonn Airport on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2024. Flight operations are currently suspended due to police operations. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.”
