The flames spread to the forest area next to the land and to a wedding hall’s storage building due to the wind. The smoke rising from the fire area covered the luxury hotels on the coast. Police, fire department and Forest Management Directorate teams were dispatched to the area upon citizens’ notification. 6 fire trucks and 2 water trucks responded to the scene. The fire was brought under control 1 hour before it spread to the surrounding villas.
Damage Assessment and Cooling Efforts Continue
A section of the wedding hall’s storage building and the materials in the storage were completely damaged in the fire. The fire affected trees in approximately 5 acres of forest and 7 acres of grass. While fire crews continued cooling efforts, the police launched a detailed investigation into the cause of the incident.
