The fire, which started in the agricultural land near Geyikli in the Ezine district of Çanakkale at around 16.30, spread rapidly due to the strong wind and reached the surrounding forest areas and the port facilities of the AKÇANSA cement factory operating in the region. A part of the factory was destroyed by flames.
Teams continue to intervene from both air and land in order to control and extinguish the fire. However, the effect of wind makes fire extinguishing efforts difficult.
