A fire broke out in the recycling area of the paper factory belonging to Essel Kağıt A.Ş. located in the Velioğlu Neighborhood of the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak. The fire, which started at around 13:30, was brought under control by the intervention of firefighting teams.
It was reported that the fire started when waste paper and cardboard in the factory’s garden caught fire. Health, police and fire teams were dispatched to the scene after employees quickly intervened and reported the fire to 112. Additional fire teams from surrounding districts were also dispatched to the area to prevent the flames from spreading.
Some employees affected by the smoke from the fire were treated at the scene by medical teams. As a result of the intense efforts of the fire brigade teams that lasted 2 hours, the fire was brought under control and cooling efforts were started. An investigation was launched into the cause of the fire.
