Fire Disaster: Major Damage to the Factory
A fire that occurred in a factory in Antalya was prevented from a larger disaster, thanks to the attention of the surrounding citizens. The intense smoke and flames rising from the factory were noticed by the surrounding residents, who immediately reported the situation to the authorities. Upon notice, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade quickly arrived at the scene and began to intervene.
Fire crews made intense efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding residences and greenhouses. The teams managed to keep the fire under control, preventing the flames from spreading over a wide area. However, the factory’s warehouse and production areas became completely unusable. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the fire, which was a source of consolation.
While the fire brigade’s cooling efforts continued at the scene, the crime scene investigation teams started a detailed study to determine the cause of the fire. It was stated that the material damage caused by the fire was approximately 100 million TL, and the investigation was continuing. The situation of the factory after the fire was viewed from the air with a drone.
Mehmet Uçan, brother of the factory owner, said the following about the fire:
“We are happy that no one was hurt. This is a sad situation. The entire factory was burned down in about an hour until we arrived at the scene. The work will continue until the evening. This was a place where we provided employment. We have an average loss of 100 million TL. The factory, 4 “It was on an area of a thousand square meters and it was all destroyed. There was nothing left inside. “We had just bought our machines, but we will work again and rise from the ashes.”
Hasan Alkış, neighbor of the burned factory, said:
“The fire started during the morning prayer. This was a factory that manufactured boxes and they were exporting throughout Turkey. The factory has a huge loss. Smoke is still coming out and the cooling work is continuing. Their cars, forklifts and machines were burned. There were too many flames. Get well soon.”
