Fatih Erbakan, one of the leaders of the National Vision, made important statements about the financial situation of retirees. Erbakan stated that it was above expectations for a retiree who had difficulty getting by on 10 thousand liras to be comfortable on 12 thousand 500 liras. Erbakan emphasized that tax increases and hikes made the lives of retirees even more difficult and made the following assessment: “The announced figure is far from our demand that the lowest retirement salary be indexed to the minimum wage.”
Emphasizing that retirees have worked for years for the development of the country and paid enough premiums, Erbakan stated that the government’s economic failure should not be blamed on retirees. Erbakan criticized, “Despite all our warnings, you are making retirees pay the painful price of the debt-interest-price hike-tax economy, the interest paid to globalists, the unstoppable waste in the public sector, the billions in guarantees provided to holding companies and the forgiven taxes.”
