Fatal Accident on Akçakale Highway
In a traffic accident that occurred near the Eyyübiye National Garden on the Akçakale highway, a car that went out of control hit pedestrians walking on the sidewalk and then hit two parked vehicles before coming to a stop.
At the time of the accident, two children on the sidewalk unfortunately lost their lives. In addition, six people injured in the accident were taken to various hospitals by ambulances called to the scene. However, three more children who were treated in hospitals unfortunately could not be saved.
It was reported that one of the injured people receiving treatment at the hospital was in serious condition. Following the incident, an investigation was conducted by local authorities and the vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the area with the help of a tow truck. After the municipality teams completed the cleaning work, Akçakale road was reopened to traffic.
Governor Hasan Şıldak, who made investigations at the scene with Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasim Gulpinar, made important statements to journalists. Şıldak gave the following information about this tragic traffic accident that occurred on the Akçakale road in the Eyyübiye district:
“The accident occurred when a moving vehicle lost control for an unknown reason and hit pedestrians and two parked vehicles on the side of the road. Unfortunately, five of our citizens lost their lives in this accident, and they were children. Age determinations will be We lost two of our children at the scene and three of our children were treated at the hospital, two of whom were injured. One of these injured is in serious condition. “Teams will continue their work to determine the cause of the incident and those responsible.”
Şıldak offered his condolences to those who lost their lives in the accident, wished a speedy rescue to the injured, and called on all drivers to be careful in traffic.
