According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association and the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly, Turkey’s export leader, the automotive industry, completed the first 6 months of the year with foreign sales of 17 billion 701 million 161 thousand dollars. The sector makes the most exports to European countries.
Germany Stands Out in Exports
Germany is the largest export market for the Turkish automotive industry. Automotive exports to Germany, which is at the top of the list, amounted to 2 billion 435 million 115 thousand dollars. France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain are also among the prominent export destinations for the Turkish automotive industry.

The automotive industry’s exports to five European countries constitute 52.78 percent of the sector’s total exports. This situation reveals Turkey’s Europe-focused strategy in automotive exports.
Emerging Markets: Saudi Arabia and Australia
In the January-June period, the Turkish automotive industry significantly increased its exports to markets such as Saudi Arabia and Australia. Exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 238 percent, from $41 million 827 thousand to $141 million 396 thousand. Similarly, exports to Australia increased by 114.7 percent, reaching $130 million 909 thousand.
