The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority for Energy and Natural Resources announced that it has repaired the power line that was destroyed in the last two weeks in cooperation with the Electricity Distribution Company in Gaza. It was also stated that the Central Water Treatment Plant in Deir Balakh will soon be provided with electricity with a capacity to produce 20,000 cubic meters.

International organizations are pressing Israel to restore power to other lines and supply electricity to the public and vital facilities.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that water treatment plants in Gaza have become inoperable due to the lack of fuel supply. It was emphasized that this situation has caused an increase in water shortages in the region and has caused difficulties for people to access clean drinking water.

According to a joint report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and the Palestinian Authority for Environmental Quality, water resources in the Gaza Strip are estimated to have decreased by 10 to 20 percent compared to pre-attacks levels. This negatively affects the daily lives of people in the region and increases the difficulties experienced in obtaining water.
