The 2nd Dragon Boat Festival in Bulgaria started on Saturday at Lake Pancharevo, famous for its magnificent scenery. The two-day event will feature dragon boat races and various cultural shows.
In addition to dragon boat races, the festival will feature music and dance, martial arts shows, various works of art and delicious dishes from Chinese and Bulgarian cuisine.
The opening ceremony of the festival, which included a performance by a Bulgarian dance troupe and a dragon dance, was marked by officials painting dragon heads and tying them to boats. “with the dragon awakening ceremony”it ended.
In his congratulatory message, Bulgarian Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov described the festival as a good contribution to the rich program organized for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China.
Todorov expressed his belief that the two countries will give new impetus to bilateral relations this year and will actively work to strengthen and expand cooperation.
In his congratulatory message, Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports Georgi Glushkov expressed his belief that the festival will offer an unforgettable and dynamic experience to all participants.
