The incident took place on July 22 at around 20:00 in the Altunhisar district. Meryem Birol, who worked as a maintenance personnel at the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Center Directorate, was attacked by two Rottweiler dogs from the factory she was passing by on every way home from work.
Birol, who was saved from the dogs by the intervention of the people around, was injured in his left arm, left leg, mouth and nose. Meryem Birol, who was taken to Altunhisar State Hospital by the ambulance dispatched to the region upon notification, was transferred to Niğde Education and Research Hospital after the intervention there. While Birol’s treatment at the hospital continued, the dog’s owner HK was taken into custody.
On the other hand, the attack by dogs was reflected on the security camera of a workplace in the area.
Condition of Dogs
HK, who Meryem Birol filed a complaint against, said that her dogs, which were quarantined for 10 days under the control of the District Agriculture Directorate, had report cards and were regularly vaccinated. While HK was released after her statement, it was reported that the prosecutor’s office investigation into the incident was ongoing.
