Diyanet-Sen Chairman Ali Yıldız called on DEM municipalities to act in accordance with the values of the nation, stating that municipalities should act in line with the beliefs and values of the people. In addition, Türk Diyanet Vakıf-Sen Chairman Nuri Ünal emphasized that the main duty of municipalities and muftis is to serve the nation, and expressed that the services provided should be reviewed.

Former AK Party Diyarbakır MP Oya Eronat stated that the PKK was founded on hostility towards religion and aimed to alienate Kurds from religion. Eronat evaluated the PKK’s aim to destroy the symbols of religion and the DEM Party’s stance against Quran courses in this context.
