Mustafa Destici, the Chairman of the Grand Unity Party (BBP), drew attention to the games played in Turkey through nationalism and refugees in a press conference he held in Berlin. Destici said, “They are trying to stir up trouble in Turkey through refugees,” and pointed out that the rehearsal of this game was seen in Kayseri.
Destici emphasized that provocations are unacceptable and said, “It is completely unacceptable for a small child to be raped, abused or haunted. So whoever does it, we condemn it.” Destici stated that the refugees were targeted after the incidents and condemned this situation and said, “What crime did those innocent people commit there? Setting fire to houses where hundreds of children are located is unacceptable.”
Destici, who stated that the events in Kayseri upset the nation, opposed the rising neo-fascism under the name of nationalism. Destici, who stated that the nation did not give credit to such games, stated that racism was unacceptable in Turkey at any time.
UEFA’s Merih Demiral Decision and Turkphobia
BBP leader Destici reacted to the disciplinary investigation opened by UEFA regarding national football player Merih Demiral. Destici said, “It is unacceptable that the celebration of our football player in a sports competition is considered as racism.” and indicated that there is a Turkophobia in Europe.
Congratulating the success of the National Football Team, Destici stated that the football players were a source of pride and called for support for Saturday’s match. Destici, who stated that he visited the Nizam Alem Federation’s affiliated quarries in Germany, said that he listened to the problems of Turkish citizens living in Germany and that there were demands regarding retirement.
Destici emphasized that citizens living in Germany should be able to retire, just like in Turkey, and expressed that this issue should be embraced.
