Adam Frisch, a Democrat vying for a Republican House seat in Colorado, expressed his frustration with the lack of impact calls for President Biden to step aside were having on the president. Despite his own plea for Biden to consider stepping down, Frisch felt disheartened by the situation. His frustration peaked upon hearing reports on Tuesday that the leaders of the Democratic National Committee were moving to confirm Mr. Biden as the party’s presidential nominee by the end of July.

“It’s so frustrating, to Democratic voters, to donors, to the double haters who don’t like Biden or Trump,” Mr. Frisch expressed in an interview on Tuesday. “This is why people hate politics. It looks like the books are being cooked.”

Democratic Debate Over Biden's Nomination

The debate surrounding whether Mr. Biden should remain the Democratic nominee has been ongoing since his poor debate performance last month. The party is now aiming to swiftly put an end to this discussion by organizing a virtual roll call of state delegates in July to officially nominate Mr. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jaime Harrison, the Democratic National Committee chairman, refuted claims that the virtual roll call was being expedited, but the decision to hold it this month instead of waiting until the August convention has faced increasing opposition.

The nomination would follow a series of extraordinary events, including a failed attempt on former President Donald J. Trump’s life, bipartisan calls for political de-escalation, and legal victories for Mr. Trump that have impacted the federal government’s case against him for allegedly seeking to overturn the 2020 election.
