The DEM Party, which won some districts in the local elections, is now targeting Quran courses. As soon as the party took office, it was demanded that the buildings allocated as Quran courses be evacuated. It was requested that 12 buildings, which house 10 Quran courses operating in the Kayapınar, Sur and Bağlar districts of Diyarbakır, be evacuated within 30 days. The municipal council decisions have also been conveyed to the district mufti’s offices in writing. The Diyarbakır Mufti’s Office filed a lawsuit in the administrative courts regarding the municipal council decisions to cancel these allocations and requested a stay of execution.

The administrative court case filed against the municipal council decisions continues. The Diyarbakır Mufti’s Office has initiated the legal process to cancel the evacuation of the buildings where the Quran courses are located. The legal struggle between the parties in this process continues.
