National and International Day of Support for Gaza and Prisoners in Israeli Prisons
On July 28, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, called for August 3 to be declared a national and international day of support for the people of Gaza and the prisoners in Israeli prisons. This call was directed to all Islamic, Arab and world countries and called for large-scale demonstrations to be held on that day.
In this context, Palestinians gathered in various parts of the West Bank to draw attention to the human tragedy in Gaza by organizing demonstrations and marches to give a strong message of solidarity. Participants chanted slogans and carried banners demanding the freedom of the prisoners they supported.
During events:
- Palestinian flags and signs reading “Freedom” were unfurled.
- The people distributed leaflets containing various demands for the rights of the prisoners.
- Speeches were made and information was given about the situation of the prisoners.
The event aimed to highlight the hardships faced not only by the people in Gaza, but also by prisoners in Israeli prisons. Palestinians expressed their solidarity and unity by stating that the international community should show more sensitivity to this issue.
