12 Civilians Killed in Artillery Bombardment in Fashir
The Fashir Resistance Committees, made up of activists, announced that 12 civilians were killed and 20 injured in an artillery bombardment on the animal market in the city of Fashir on Wednesday. It also mentioned attacks on homes and mosques, which resulted in an undetermined number of casualties and injuries.
Increase in Child Deaths as a Result of Malnutrition Center Damage
Another statement by the Resistance Committees said that the damage to the nutrition center, the only treatment center in Fashir, had led to an increase in the number of deaths among malnourished children. It also drew attention to the shortage of medicines and stressed that patients with kidney failure and chronic diseases were at risk of death.
Number of Displaced People in Sinnar Province Reaches 136,130
The United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that the number of people displaced due to the conflict in Sinca, the center of Sinnar province in southern Sudan, has risen to 136,130. It was noted that clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue in the cities of Sinnar, Sinnar and Dindir.
Following the joint coup against the civilian-led government that was overthrown by Omar al-Bashir, who had been in power for 30 years in Sudan, the power struggle between the army and the NGO continues. In the war that has been ongoing since April 2023, the army has been influential in the northern and eastern provinces, while the NGO has been influential in the western and southern provinces. As a result of the conflict in Sudan, more than 16,000 people have lost their lives, nearly 10 million people have been displaced, and more than 25 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.
