Criticism from Ben Gvir to Netanyahu
According to local media, Ben-Gvir took aim at Netanyahu during a meeting of the Security Cabinet to discuss Hamas’ response to the prisoner swap. Ben-Gvir criticized Netanyahu’s decision to send an Israeli delegation to negotiate an indirect prisoner swap with Hamas without consulting the Cabinet.
Ben-Gvir claimed that Netanyahu held secret meetings behind closed doors with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and security officials, and claimed that the Israeli Prime Minister was using the Cabinet “decoratively.” Addressing Netanyahu at the meeting, Ben-Gvir said, Prime Minister, I am telling you that if you decide alone, it is your responsibility and you will be alone.” he said.
Netanyahu’s Decision
In a written statement made by the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service Mossad on July 3, it was announced that the parties mediating the prisoner swap negotiations had conveyed Hamas’ response to the ceasefire offer to the Israeli negotiating team. Netanyahu announced that he had decided to send a delegation from Israel to the negotiations to be held between Tel Aviv and Hamas to reach a prisoner swap agreement.
