What Happened at the Scene
The incident took place this morning at around 11:00 in Bayrampaşa Yıldırım Neighborhood Mücahit Street. According to the instructions, the filling material was poured into a pit opened for a construction site’s İSKİ sewer connection. As a result of the heavy rain in Istanbul, a section of the road collapsed as a result of the filling material being carried away.
The truck and car that were parked at the time fell into the opened pit. Citizens in the area rushed to help and pulled the car and truck out of the pit. The pit was closed with the work of the teams. The moment of the incident was recorded on the security camera.
“Road Lost Due to Heavy Rain”
Erman Aydın, who works at the construction site, explained the incident as follows: “Since the manhole was short, İSKİ had to do work here. The work was done, but since the soil thrown on it was soft, the road slid due to sudden rain. Our worker’s vehicle fell, we pulled that vehicle out.”
