In an interview with CNN, Bennet said the situation was “very concerning” and that if Democratic Party candidate President Joe Biden continues his candidacy, Democrats could lose the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House.
Emphasizing that “for the first time in more than 20 years” a Republican presidential candidate is ahead in the election campaign process, Bennet said, “Trump is on track to win the election and perhaps he will win by a landslide.”
Secret Meetings and Plans
While Bennet has not explicitly called for Biden to withdraw from the race, he has argued that Biden’s campaign has “done nothing” to suggest that they have a plan to win the election.
Meanwhile, Democrats have gathered to discuss Biden’s candidacy for the US presidential election. The meetings discussed the possibility of abandoning Biden to gain new momentum against former President Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s candidate, or continuing to support Biden to avoid chaos in the country four months before the presidential election.
In a sign of the great tensions at hand, the leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives did not allow cell phones into the bloc’s first meeting on Tuesday morning to prevent any leaks. There is still strong disagreement within the party over the stance to be taken.
