According to the announcements on the official website of the Competition Authority, it was decided to launch an investigation into 5 companies operating in the chemical sector. As a result of the investigations conducted regarding the alleged collusion in the process of providing price offers and determining approximate costs in certain public tenders, the following companies were included in the scope of the investigation:
- Protection Chlorine Alkali Industry and Trade Inc.
- 2S Chemistry Purification Agriculture Construction Food Tourism Industry and Trade Inc.
- Aykimsan Hiçyılmaz Chemical Products Construction Food Tourism Industry and Trade Co. Ltd.
- Irmak Chemical Industry and Tourism Transportation Agricultural Products and Recycling Trade Co. Ltd.
- Süleyman Kimya Purification Construction Transportation and Hazardous Materials Consultancy Services Industry Trade Ltd.
Investigation on Koruma Chlorine Alkali Industry and Trade Inc.
As a result of the preliminary investigation conducted regarding Koruma Klor Alkali Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ’s behavior that hinders and excludes its competitors in the chlor-alkali products sector, the Competition Board decided to open an official investigation into the company. This decision shows that there are serious findings that the company is acting in violation of the Law.
Investigation decisions mean that the companies have acted against the law and may face sanctions in the future. However, at this stage, only the investigation has been launched and the outcome is not yet clear.
