A group of climate activists held a protest against fossil fuels at Frankfurt Airport. Air traffic was temporarily suspended due to the activists’ protest. However, flights resumed with a delay due to police intervention. The airport spokesperson announced that 50 flights were canceled due to the protest.
The group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) emphasized in a post on its social media account that “the use of oil, gas and coal must be ended by 2030.”
Police detained 8 activists who participated in the protest. Criminal complaints were filed against the investigators, charging them with interfering with air traffic and trespassing.
