Michael Shellenberger and Elon Musk Discuss Children’s Rights
American freelance journalist and author Michael Shellenberger criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom’s legal regulations regarding children’s rights. In his analysis, Shellenberger argued that the governor claims that the laws protect children and parents, but in fact prevents government intervention in family matters. Elon Musk also supported Shellenberger’s analysis, describing the governor’s statements as disinformation.
Shellenberger said the law creates a dangerous environment by preventing children from telling their parents about their gender identity. He noted that if children are prevented from telling their parents when they start to believe they are the opposite sex, doctors can administer treatments such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
Elon Musk, in his statement on this controversial issue, announced that SpaceX and X companies will move their headquarters from California to Texas. Musk stated that the governor’s decision accelerated this decision and expressed his concerns about children’s rights and family relations.
