In a statement made by the Directorate of Communications’ Disinformation Combat Center (DMM), it was stated that the claims circulating on some social media accounts that “Expatriates will pay 2 thousand Euros of support tax to the homeland annually” were not true.

In the statement, it was emphasized that the new tax package prepared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance does not include any taxation work for citizens living abroad. In the statement, it was stated that the suggestions and expectations were evaluated and that the tax package in question was planned to be presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

The statement also stated that the claims made regarding the new tax package, which was prepared to further strengthen justice in taxes and increase efficiency, were aimed at creating anxiety and distrust in the public. It was emphasized that speculative statements made by people other than official institutions and authorities should not be relied upon.
